What You'll Need
Filter Coffee
The quintessential South Indian beverage, known for its rich aroma and bold flavour, brewed to perfection using a traditional filter and blended with creamy milk and sugar.
Ingredients :
For Filter Coffee
1. South Indian filter coffee powder 3 tbsp
2. Hot water 1/2 cup
3. Milk 1 cup
4. Sugar To taste
Procedure :
1. Brew the Decoction: Add coffee powder to the top chamber of a South Indian coffee filter. Pour hot water (not boiling) into the chamber and cover with the lid. Allow the coffee decoction to slowly drip into the bottom chamber over 10-15 minutes until a rich concentrate is formed.
2. Prepare the Coffee: Heat the milk until it’s hot but not boiling. Add sugar as per your taste and stir well. In a serving tumbler, pour 2-3 tablespoons of the brewed coffee decoction. Add hot milk gradually, adjusting the ratio to suit your preferred coffee strength.
3. Froth and Serve: Froth the coffee by pouring it back and forth between two tumblers to create a creamy, frothy layer. Serve hot in a traditional tumbler and dabara for an authentic experience.
