Filter Coffee Affogato
An Italian-inspired twist on South Indian filter coffee, combining the richness of brewed coffee with creamy vanilla ice cream for a unique dessert.
Ingredients :
For Filter Coffee
1. South Indian filter coffee powder 3 tbsp
2. Hot water 1/2 cup
3. Milk 1 cup
4. Sugar To taste
For Affogato
1. Brewed filter coffee
2. Vanilla ice cream
3. Biscotti (for garnish)
Procedure :
1. Prepare Filter Coffee: Add coffee powder to the top chamber of a South Indian coffee filter. Pour hot water over it and let the decoction collect in the bottom chamber (5-10 minutes). If desired, heat milk in the Bergner Coffee Warmer and mix with the decoction. Add sugar to taste.
2. Prepare the Affogato: Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each serving glass or bowl. Pour 30 ml of freshly brewed filter coffee over the ice cream. Adjust the coffee’s strength by adding milk, if preferred.
3. Garnish and Serve: Top with a biscotti for crunch and serve immediately, enjoying the delightful blend of hot coffee and melting ice cream.
