Lahori Green Chicken
A creamy, spicy green chicken curry made with fresh coriander, mint, and green chillies. A vibrant, aromatic dish from the streets of Lahore — perfect with naan or rice.
Ingredients :
For Green Masala Paste:
1. 1 cup fresh coriander leaves (with stems)
2. ½ cup mint leaves
3. 2–3 green chillies (adjust to taste)
4. 1 inch ginger
5. 4–5 garlic cloves
6. 2 tbsp yoghurt
For Curry:
7. 500 g chicken (bone-in or boneless)
8. 1 tbsp oil or ghee
9. 1 small onion (finely chopped)
10. 1 small tomato (finely chopped or puréed)
11. ½ tsp turmeric powder
12. 1 tsp coriander powder
13. ½ tsp cumin powder
14. Salt to taste
15. ¼ cup fresh cream (optional, for richness)
16. 1 tsp kasuri methi (crushed)
17. Fresh coriander for garnish
Procedure :
1. Blend all green masala ingredients into a smooth paste using minimal water.
2. Switch on Sauté Mode in the MultiCook. Heat oil and sauté onions until golden.
3. Add tomatoes and cook until soft. Stir in turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt.
4. Add the green masala paste and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the oil starts to separate.
5. Add chicken and mix well to coat with the masala.
6. Cancel sauté mode. Close the lid and select the ‘Chicken Curry’ preset.
7. Let pressure release naturally once cooking is complete.
8. Switch back to Sauté Mode. Add cream and kasuri methi. Simmer for 2–3 minutes (do not boil).
9. Adjust salt or chilli if needed.
10. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
