Millet Pongal
A wholesome South Indian-style dish made with barnyard millet and moong dal — light, nourishing, and perfect for everyday healthy eating.
Ingredients :
1. ½ cup barnyard millet (rinsed)
2. ¼ cup yellow moong dal (rinsed)
3. 2 cups water
4. Salt to taste
5. 1 tsp ghee
6. ½ tsp cumin seeds
7. 1 tsp crushed black pepper
8. 1 sprig curry leaves
9. 4 cashews
Procedure :
1. Add millet, moong dal, water, and salt to the MultiCook inner pot.
2. Close the lid and select the Millets function.
3. Once the cooking is complete, let the pressure release naturally.
4. In a small pan, heat ghee. Add cumin seeds, black pepper, curry leaves, and cashews.
5. Pour this tempering into the cooked pongal and mix well.
6. Serve hot.
