One Pot Chicken Biryani

Juicy marinated chicken, fragrant basmati rice, and aromatic spices — all cooked together in one pot for a satisfying biryani experience with no fuss.

Ingredients :

For Chicken Marinade:
1. 500 g chicken (bone-in preferred)
2. ½ cup yoghurt
3. 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
5. ½ tsp turmeric powder
6. 1 tsp garam masala
7. Salt to taste

For Biryani:
8. 1 tbsp ghee or oil
9. 1 bay leaf
10. 2 cloves
11. 1 small cinnamon stick
12. 1 green cardamom
13. 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
14. 1 cup basmati rice (washed and soaked for 15–20 mins)
15. 1½ cups water
16. 2 tbsp chopped coriander + 2 tbsp mint leaves
17. A few saffron strands soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk (optional)

Procedure :


1. Marinate chicken with all marinade ingredients and set aside for at least 15 minutes.
2. Switch on Sauté Mode in the MultiCook. Add ghee or oil.
3. Add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. Sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Add onions and sauté until golden brown.
5. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Add soaked rice, chopped mint and coriander, salt, and water. Stir gently to mix.
7. Add saffron milk on top (optional, do not stir). Cancel Sauté Mode.
8. Close the lid and press the 'Biryani' button on the MultiCook.
9. Let the cooking complete and allow pressure to release naturally.
10. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve hot with raita or salad.
