Palak Moong Dal
A wholesome, iron-rich dal made with yellow moong and fresh spinach. Light on the stomach, yet full of flavour — perfect for everyday clean eating.
Ingredients :
For Dal:
1. ½ cup yellow moong dal (washed and soaked for 15 mins)
2. 1½ cups spinach (finely chopped)
3. 1 small tomato (chopped)
4. ¼ tsp turmeric powder
5. Salt to taste
6. 2½ cups water
For Tempering:
7. 1 tbsp ghee or oil
8. ½ tsp cumin seeds
9. 1 pinch hing (asafoetida)
10. 1 green chilli (slit)
11. 1 tsp ginger (grated)
12. ½ tsp red chilli powder
13. 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
14. Chopped coriander for garnish
Procedure :
1. Add soaked moong dal, chopped spinach, tomato, turmeric powder, salt, and water into the MultiCook.
2. Close the lid and select the 'Dal' preset.
3. Let the MultiCook complete cooking and allow the pressure to release naturally.
4. Open the lid and lightly mash the dal to blend. Keep on Keep Warm mode.
5. In a small pan, heat ghee or oil. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
6. Add hing, green chilli, and ginger. Sauté for 30–40 seconds.
7. Add red chilli powder and stir quickly.
8. Pour the tadka over the cooked dal and mix well.
9. Add lemon juice (if using) and stir.
10. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice or phulka.
