Rasam – Raw Mango Style
A tangy twist to the traditional South Indian rasam, made with raw mango for a refreshing, slightly sour flavour. Light, comforting, and perfect for hot days or when you want something easy on the stomach.
Ingredients :
1. 1 medium raw mango (peeled and chopped)
2. 1 tbsp toor dal (optional, for body)
3. 1 small tomato (chopped)
4. ½ tsp turmeric powder
5. ½ tsp black pepper powder
6. 1 tsp rasam powder
7. 2 cups water
8. Salt to taste
9. 1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
10. 1 tbsp ghee or oil
11. ½ tsp mustard seeds
12. 1 pinch hing (asafoetida)
13. 1–2 dried red chillies
14. 8–10 curry leaves
Procedure :
1. Switch on Sauté Mode in the MultiCook and heat ghee or oil.
2. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
3. Add hing, dried red chillies, and curry leaves. Sauté for 30 seconds.
4. Add chopped raw mango and tomato. Stir for 1 minute.
5. Add turmeric powder, black pepper powder, rasam powder, and salt. Mix well.
6. Add soaked toor dal (optional) and 2 cups water. Stir everything together.
7. Cancel sauté mode. Close the lid and select the ‘Soup’ preset.
8. Let the MultiCook complete cooking and allow pressure to release naturally.
9. Open the lid and slightly mash the mango pieces to blend into the soup.
10. Stir in fresh coriander leaves and serve hot, as soup or with steamed rice.
