Toor Dal Tadka
A simple, hearty dal tempered with spices — a comfort food classic in every Indian home. Perfect with rice, roti, or just a drizzle of ghee on top.
Ingredients :
For Dal:
1. ½ cup toor dal (washed and soaked for 20 mins)
2. 1 small tomato (chopped)

7. ½ tsp cumin seeds
8. 1–2 dried red chillies
9. 1 pinch hing (asafoetida)
10. 1 green chilli (slit)
11. 1 tsp ginger (grated or finely chopped)
12. 1 small onion (finely chopped, optional)
13. ½ tsp red chilli powder

4. Open the lid and lightly mash the dal for a smooth consistency. Keep it on Keep Warm mode.
5. In a small pan, heat ghee or oil for tempering.
6. Add cumin seeds, hing, and dried red chillies. Let them splutter.

8. Add red chilli powder and quickly stir (do not burn).
9. Pour the prepared tadka into the dal in the MultiCook and mix well.
10. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
