Veg Pulao

Fragrant basmati rice cooked with colourful vegetables and whole spices — a wholesome one-pot meal or the perfect side for dals and gravies.

MultiCook Function: Rice

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 cup basmati rice (washed and soaked for 15 mins)
  2. 1 tbsp oil or ghee
  3. 1 bay leaf
  4. 2 cloves
  5. 1 small cinnamon stick
  6. 1 green cardamom
  7. 1 small onion (thinly sliced)
  8. 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  9. 1 cup mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, beans, potato)
  10. 2 cups water
  11. ½ tsp garam masala
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Fresh coriander or mint leaves for garnish

PROCEDURE

  • Switch on Sauté Mode in the MultiCook. Heat oil or ghee.
  • Add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add onions and sauté until light golden.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
  • Add chopped vegetables and sauté for 2–3 minutes.
  • Add soaked rice, water, salt, and garam masala. Stir gently.
  • Cancel Sauté Mode. Close the lid and select the 'Rice' preset.
  • Let the MultiCook complete cooking and allow pressure to release naturally.
  • Open the lid and fluff the rice gently with a fork.
  • Garnish with coriander or mint and serve hot.
